245 _aComparative Efficacy Of Conventional (Muduramycin) & Non. Conventional Herbal Feed Additive Anticoccidials In Broilers Feed
260 _c2004
502 _aThe study was designed to compare the efficacy of different feed additive anticoccidials. A total of 150 day-old-broiler chicks were purchased and raised for 42 days under good husbandry and hygienic conditions. The birds were randomly divided into five groups i.e. A, B, C, D and E comparising of 30 birds each. Group A was non-infected non-medicated control while group B was infected non medicated control. Group C was given commercial feed having anticoccidial Maduramycin, while the groups D and E were given commercial feed having herbal anticoccidial Coxigon. All the groups except A and E were given challenge of cocci infection on day 22. The oocyst count was done on 5th, 6th and 7th day after infection. The feed consumption and weight gain were recorded weekly. Record of mortality kept and postmortem of dead birds was also performed. The results revealed that (Coxigon) as anticiccidial in feed was better than the other treatment in terms of weight gain, feed efficiency (FCR), oocyst count and reduction in mortality.
